Script development and early readings

The first draft of A Muslim in the Midst was completed in November 2015. The early development of the script was supported by NYC-based theater group Artistic New Directions (AND). Guided by Kristine Niven, Gene Santarelli, and Jeffrey Sweet, the script evolved over a period of three months culminating in the first staged reading as a part of AND's Eclectics showcase of emerging works.

Actors involved in the early workshops and readings: Anand Ray, Mahima Saigal, Gopal Divan, David Marx, Gayatri Higashide,  Trevor Jones, Naveen Naidu, Jorge Torres and David Lopez.
